Your Audios and Handouts for Module 1:

How to Listen: If you’re on a computer, the player below should work — just push the play button. You can also download the recordings to your computer with the download link.
If you’re on a tablet or smartphone, the player should also work. Alternatively, you can click the Download link. On a phone or tablet, this will also bring up a player. Please be aware that on a device, you are listening through audio streaming so it may take a few moments for the audio to load. Have patience, it will work!
How to Access the Handouts: Most handouts are PDF files which should open when you click on them. You can easily choose File >Save As to save them to your Desktop or other location on your computer. If the file is a Word doc, it will download to your downloads folder. Any problems, let me know and I can email you any file as an attachment.
This is your Welcome audio. Length: 3:40
(Those going through the program individually will find a few things not too relevant, but “welcome” just the same!)

Accompanying Handout: Ethics and Legal Checklist
IMPORTANT: At some time during the certification process, you need to read and agree to the EFT International Code of Conduct and Ethics. Below is a direct link to the document. You can ‘save as’ to keep a copy. Or find it easily on EFTInternational.org under About Us > Policies and Procedures. The Ethics Code is in the list of documents on that page.
EFT International Code of Conduct and Ethics
If you want to delve deeper into legal concerns, EFT Master Rue Hass has an informative document on that topic.
Optional: Rue Hass’ Legal Risk Document
Visit Rue’s website and take a look at her disclaimer. It is not to be directly copied, of course, but this shows you a good example of legally sound language.
Useful Documents and Forms
PDF’s will open and you cans “Save As” to download them.
The longer form is in Word format and will download to your computer. Usually the form is filled out on the computer so the sections can expand as needed.
Some of these are FYI – you can return to them later if you don’t need them now.
- Longer Form for Logging your Practice Sessions
download Word document – use the longer form for the first 20 sessions – if you keep type into the form on the computer, you can easily email logs to me for discussion in our mentoring. - Shorter Form for Logging your Practice Sessions – use to record shorter reports after the first 20 sessions.
- Client Informed Consent Agreement for Practice Sessions
- Intake, Disclaimer and Informed Consent – A brief but useful form that Betty has used for years.
- A More Extensive Intake – Example from friend and colleague Lynne Shaner.
- Disclaimers for Websites
- A sample Release Form for a class or workshop
More Resources
The book by David Feinstein and Donna Eden, Ethics for Energy Healing Practitioners, is well worth the investment. Available on Amazon or from David’s site: www.innersourcestore.com It’s been very helpful for me to understand the ethical dilemmas that are so easily avoided if you are informed.
Below are sources of liability insurance for EFT Practitioners (in the US). I offer this information FYI – you can return to it later when you need it. It is not necessary to have liability insurance for practice sessions, but insurance coverage is required for EFT International Certification.
HANDS-ON TRADE
www.handsontrade.com At this link https://handsontrade.com/professions, you will see Emotional Freedom Techniques covered as a Manual Therapy/ Bodywork Method – policy is $165/year. You have coverage for in-person or phone/video sessions (in the US), and you are covered wherever you may do the session (in the US). You can also add ‘slip-and-fall’ insurance for any location for $10.
Also, with Hands-On Trade, you can get insurance at the student rate of $75 prior to certification and stay on that rate for one full year — even if you upgrade to Certified status and coverage during that year, you don’t have to pay the full rate until the year is out. See Professions Covered > Students.
ALTERNATIVE BALANCE
www.alternativebalance.net – EFT is listed under Therapies Covered > Energy Work Insurance – $199-229 per year depending on whether you are part-time or full-time. Similar coverage as above.
ENERGY MEDICINE PROFESSIONAL INSURANCE
www.energymedicineprofessionalinsurance.com/
Phone: (210)497-5529 Ask for Erin Harris
Cost: $250/year each April – prorated at the time that you join.
This company covers all of the above plus international phone/video coverage, in other words coverage for US-based practitioners who work remotely with clients in other countries. This is the insurance I now carry, necessary for me because it covers international sessions as well as my work as a trainer teaching EFT trainings online or in person. They also offer the ‘slip and fall’ add-on insurance for a practice location.
