Your Audios and Handouts for Module 7
Audio 1: Focus on the Movie Technique/Tell-the-Story Technique (33:35)
Please note: I now teach three things slightly differently than presented in this audio. 1) The Length: We now emphasize keeping the movie to 2-3 minutes of real time; an event that took 15-20 minutes would definitely have to be broken into smaller movies. 2) The Title: even if the title has no intensity, I think it’s important to tap for the title at least once to establish it as a kind of container or handle. 3) Silent Movie: the audio doesn’t mention the great value of allowing for the silent movie anytime privacy is desired; there may be just one part of the movie, one detail that someone doesn’t want to say out loud, and it’s good to inform people that they can keep anything to themselves at any time and we can still tap for their feelings about “this part.”

Audio 2: Case Examples (28:37)
Student Case Study Example
My student got permission from her client for me to share her case study, which is a good example of a structured, methodical Movie/Tell-the-Story Technique. Two notes: 1) The Practitioner doesn’t remember to “rewind” until the end; it would have been good to rewind after each tapping and come back through each part as a test. 2) There is no self-evaluation at the end of the Case Study. This is fine for purposes of the movie example but a complete case study would include that section. (This case study was done before we had detailed instructions for each section.)

Video Demo – Betty Guiding the Movie/Tell-the-Story
A former EFM student volunteered to work with me using the movie technique on an upsetting experience of hers and allowing our video to be posted as a part of the EFM program. So here is one of my real sessions, about 1 hour 15 minutes, with great appreciation to her for being willing to share her personal work.
